Yuzvendra Chahal's Indirect Jibe At Ex-Wife Dhanashree Verma, Fans Think 'Yuzi Needs To Hesitate'

The Indian leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, has again found himself under the spotlight after his recent comment on Shikhar Dhawan’s Instagram post. Shikhar shared a post on his Instagram, to which Chahal commented, raising eyebrows, and fans are claiming it was just another dig at his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma.

The Former Indian Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan shared a glimpse of his festive season on Instagram on Friday, October 2, 2025. Shikhar shared pictures of his Bhai Dooj celebration, striking a pose with his sisters, family members, and his dog. Yuzvendra commented on his post and wrote, “aapke pose peh copyright maar raha hun bhaiya 4 crores only” with laughing emojis, to which Shikhar replied, “Deal Pakki.”

As the post went viral and people began noticing Yuzi’s comment, speculation focused on his ex-wife, Dhanshree Verma. Fans started commenting. One wrote, “ustaad ji v aage” another user wrote, “Yuzi needs to hesitate.” 

Yuzvendra  Chahal comments on the High Court ruling about alimony 

This comment emerged shortly after Yuzvendra Chahal's Instagram post gained widespread attention and went viral. In what appeared to be a subtle yet pointed message, Yuzvendra once again shared a post highlighting a recent Delhi High Court ruling. The ruling stated, "Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands." Chahal shared the post and  captioned, "Maa Kasam Khao Nahi Paltoge iss Decision Seh." Though Chahal later deleted the post, it had already gained significant traction, with various fan clubs and supporters circulating it widely across social media. 

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s separation

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were married in December 2020 but separated in June 2022. They finalized their divorce in March 2025 after filing a joint petition for mutual consent, which the Bombay High Court expedited. At the time of their separation, the couple cited career and life-goal conflicts as reasons for the split. Later on the show Rise and Fall, Dhanashree opened up about their failed marriage.

She stated that she caught Yuzi cheating in the second month of the marriage, although the Indian Cricketer denied all the comments and said, “I don’t cheat.” Both have since moved on and have indicated they parted ways amicably, though they have discussed the public scrutiny and emotional toll of the separation. Dhanashree was awarded alimony of Rs. 4.75 crore by a court from her ex-husband, Yuzvendra Chahal, as part of their divorce settlement. A portion of this amount, Rs. 2.37 crore, has already been paid, according to court documents.

Dhanashree Verma talked about the alimony 

Actress and Dancer, Dhanashree Verma, who participates in the Reality Show Rise and Fall, revisits her separation and divorce with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal from time to time. During her time on the show, she talks about her separation and states that all the demands she made for a specific alimony amount were incorrect. She also shared that Dhanashree and Yuzvendra had been married for 4 years and separated a year ago. In a conversation with Singer and co-contestant Aditya Narayan, she said, It happened quickly, and just because she is not saying anything, people are making assumptions. She said,

“Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual, that’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don’t even know you?”
